Muzon I

Kasaysayan ng Barangay

Brief History of the Barangay

The barangay is the smallest unit of government in the Philippines. It is headed by a barangay chairperson and councilors. The term barangay was taken from the word balangay which means boat.

Muzon is derived from the Spanish word MOJON meaning boundary mark. Muzon is the boundary mark between the lands of two rich people at that time. Barangay Muzon I was formerly known as one of uncivilized barangays of Rosario, Cavite. It was like a farm and some part of the sea. Fishing was the main source of living until now. Its land area measures 20.24 hectares. Barangays Silangan I, Poblacion and Muzon II are the nearby barangays and is bounded by Manila Bay on the North; Barangay Silangan I on the East, Barangay Muzon II on the West and Barangay Poblacion on the South.
