Brief History of the Barangay


Ang Barangay Ligtong III , ay nagsimula sa nag-iisang barangay na ang tawag ay Barangay Ligtong na mas kilala sa tawag na Paso I at Paso II. Subali’t ang barangay Ligtong III ay mas kilala sa tawag na Paso de Tabla.

Ang karaniwang hanapbuhay dito ay pagsasaka at pangingisda dahil ang kabuuang lupa na nasasakop ng Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) ay sakahan at taniman ng palay, gulay, prutas at pakwan.

Ang kabuuang sukat ng Barangay Ligtong III ay 28.58 ektarya na ang 70 bahagdan nito ay sakop ng PNOC. Sa tagal ng panahon ay nawala na ang mga sakahan at taniman dahil napalitan ito ng mga kabahayan, na ipinagkaloob sa mga tao na binabayaran nila sa lokal na pamahalaan.

Sa larangan ng pulitika ay hindi rin magpapahuli ang aming barangay dahil marami rin na nanungkulan dito sa ating bayan, tulad nila Mayor Calixto Enriquez, Vice Mayor Jose Rozel “Jing Jing” Hernandez at Konsehal Porfirio Enriquez.

Kung kaya’t ang naging karaniwang hanapbuhay na sa panahon natin ay ang pagtitinapa, paggawa ng mga basahan, factory worker, construction worker at ang iba naman ay nagtayo ng maliliit na tindahan.

May ilog ito na nanggaling sa EPZA at dumadaloy na parang humahati sa kalagitnaan ng barangay na nagsisimula sa may Tramo Road hanggang Pinagpala St. palabas sa Malimango River.

Mayroon itong sub-station ng pulisya na matatagpuan sa Marseilla Street, multi-purpose hall na matatagpuan sa Pinagpala St., barangay hall, barangay health station , barangay day care center at covered court na matatagpuan sa Garizon Street.

Ang aming barangay sa kabuuan ay masaya at tahimik ang pamumuhay


Land Area

Barangay Ligtong III has a total land area of 28.5870 hectares.


Demography

Based on the PSA Census 2015, the population of barangay Ligtong II was 6,821 people with a density of  239 per hectare.

"Greetings of Peace! I am pleased to present the performance of LIGTONG III along the (5) performance areas namely: Governance, Administration, Social Services, Economic Development and Environmental. This report shall serve as the basis in the formulation of programs projects and activities that are responsible to the needs of our constituents. It will serve as reference in crafting the barangay agenda as embodied in the Barangay Development Plan. This report also aims to strengthen the partnership of the barangay with the local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGA), non-government organizations (NGOs), and stakeholders as it presents a vivid picture of the development conditions of the Barangay. Above all, it aims to increase awareness of the residents on the state of the barangay, so that they become more involved and participative in the barangay affairs. Lastly, on behalf of the official of the barangay, my I congratulate and thank the Department of Interior and Local Government(DILG) in coming up with the Barangay Performance Management System (BGPMS) which will pave the way for the establishment of the state of governance of the barangay.
